What is a DXF drawing
DXF is the 2D interchange format AutoCAD and almost every CAM package read. Cad Bot writes a real R2010 DXF: ISO line types on separate layers (visible, hidden, center, hatch, dims), dimensions, and an ISO 7200 title block. It is a drawing of the part, not the 3D solid.
From text prompt to an ISO shop drawing
Your sentence becomes a strict part specification. A deterministic compiler builds a B-rep solid, then ISO 128-3 third-angle views. A side view is omitted when it would only repeat the front (flanges, washers, shafts). Hollow parts use section A-A instead of a hidden-line elevation. External cylinder threads follow ISO 6410-1 simplified representation. The numbers you typed become the dimension text — we do not guess sizes from a mesh. Holes get center lines and a leader; NOTES list assumed sizes and say when a hole is tap-drill only (no internal thread). External ISO threads on a shaft are called out. If this sheet cannot be exported, the job fails.

- What is a DXF file?
- DXF is a 2D CAD drawing AutoCAD, LibreCAD, Fusion and most CAM packages open directly. Cad Bot exports an ISO third-angle A4 shop drawing (overall sizes, hole leaders, center lines) — not a 3D solid.
- Is this a DWG?
- This page is DXF (R2010 interchange). AutoCAD also opens DXF directly. For AutoCAD's native file, use Text to DWG — that download is a real R2000 DWG of the same shop sheet.
- Is this for editing text in an existing AutoCAD drawing?
- No. Cad Bot does not open or modify DWG files. You describe a new part; you download a new drawing.
- Does this include tolerances, threads, or section views?
- The sheet follows ISO 128 / 129 / 5457 / 7200: A4, third-angle symbol, ISO line types, center lines, and ISO 2768-m general tolerances. Hollow parts (tubes, washers, flanges) get a section A-A. Axisymmetric parts omit a side view that adds no information. External ISO threads on a cylinder are drawn simplified (ISO 6410-1) and modeled in 3D. No GD&T. Tapped holes stay tap-drill size. Add GD&T in your CAD tool.
- What if the drawing cannot be built?
- This page fails the job. You will not get a solid-only success here. Use the home page if you only need STL or STEP.
- Does this cost extra?
