What is a DWG drawing
DWG is AutoCAD's native binary drawing. Cad Bot writes a real R2000 (AC1015) file: ISO line types on separate layers (visible, hidden, center, hatch, dims), dimensions, and an ISO 7200 title block. AutoCAD opens it without a DXF import. It is a drawing of the part, not the 3D solid.
From text prompt to an AutoCAD drawing
Your sentence becomes a strict part specification. A deterministic compiler builds a B-rep solid, then the same ISO 128-3 shop sheet as text to DXF. A side view is omitted when it would only repeat the front. Hollow parts use section A-A. External cylinder threads follow ISO 6410-1. If this sheet cannot be exported, the job fails.

- What is a DWG file?
- DWG is AutoCAD's native drawing file. Cad Bot exports a real AutoCAD R2000 drawing (AC1015) of the ISO A4 shop sheet — overall sizes, hole leaders, center lines — not a 3D solid and not an edit of an existing DWG.
- Will AutoCAD 2024 / 2025 / 2026 open it?
- Yes. AutoCAD opens R2000 DWG and may offer to save as a newer version. BricsCAD, DraftSight, and LibreCAD also open it. The matching R2010 DXF is on the Text to DXF page if you want the newer interchange file.
- Is this a 3D DWG or a 2D shop drawing?
- 2D shop drawing of the solid (ISO 128-3 third-angle). The 3D CAD file is STEP. We do not write 3D DWG solids or proxy objects.
- Is this for editing text in an existing AutoCAD drawing?
- No. Cad Bot does not open or modify DWG files. You describe a new part; you download a new drawing.
- Does this include tolerances, threads, or section views?
- Same sheet as the DXF: ISO 128 / 129 / 5457 / 7200, section A-A on hollow parts, ISO 6410-1 simplified external threads. Diameter uses AutoCAD's %%c symbol. No GD&T. Tapped holes stay tap-drill size.
- What if the drawing cannot be built?
- This page fails the job. You will not get a solid-only success here. Use the home page if you only need STL or STEP.
- Does this cost extra?
